Drive

After a long day, or in the middle of a short one, get in your car, play a CD you haven’t listened to in a while and drive. Don’t chose a destination simply a direction. I prefer North, chances are you’ll see the sunset if you glance left. Sing. No one can hear you except for yourself. Sing loud. Forget where you’re coming from open your mind. Speed, feel the rush, risk the fine. Slow down, feel the bend in the road forget about time. Turn the music down, listen. Slow down, stop, get out of the car, listen. Close your eyes. Inhale, exhale. Open your eyes. Smile. Twirl back to the car. Get in, start the engine, turn around go down the way you came. Go back knowing that you’re going forward.
